ELECTRONIC MODULE

All models are equipped with a computer which gives constant information on fume hood status:
  • Reduction of filtered gas toxicity to below the threshold limit values of US regulations
  • Audible and visual alarm which warns of filter saturation
  • Condition that needs analyzing via the colorimetric reactive tubes
  • Programmable date timer showing the last filter change date
  • Fan power switch, on and off
  • Low noise level centrifugal fans (48 db), placed after filter to prevent corrosion
ACCESS FOR FILTER TESTING

After the electronic module gives audible and visual warning, the saturation test must be carried out using a measuring kit (optional) with colorimetric reactive tubes which show filter saturation level and whether the filter needs changing.

FRONT FACE AIR SPEED CONTROL

The internal and front face air speed must be within permitted limits (0.4-0.75 m/s). If higher gas absorption occurs in a column the filter is not saturated homogeneously. If lower, an insufficient quantity of toxic gas will be filtered out. An anemometer has been fitted inside the fume hoods so that the user can keep a constant check that front face air speed and suction levels are correct.

NEW DESIGN

All models have been fitted with a new door design. Thanks to the innovative hand openings, the user can carry out any operation inside the fume hood with full ease of movement and safety. The user can reach the entire inside surface without difficulty, thereby avoiding having to work with the door open. Structure made from 2mm steel plate with acid resistant polymerized epoxy coating.

MOVILAIR
One the greatest advantages of CRUMAIR fume hoods is the possibility of re-sitting them anywhere in the laboratory, or even moving them from one lab to another and simply plugging the unit in. To facilitate this task, we have designed a strong, versatile wheeled support enabling the hood to be moved with perfect safety.

The Movilair structure has been designed along the same lines and aesthetics as the CRUMAIR hoods and consists of:
  • A 2mm steel sheet panel with anti-acid polymerized epoxy coating.
  • A tray, made of the same material, inside the trolley divides the useful space into two and forms a practical shelf
  • Panels manufactured from 8 mm transparent methyl polymethacrylate, highly resistant to fire and knocks.
  • Transportable on four strong wheels (up to 200kg). Two of them are lockable to ensure the stability of the Movilair.
Optional Equipment
MODULAR CRUMAIR
CRUMAIR fume hoods may be joined together to form multiple units of 900 mm (1800 mm, 2700 mm, etc.) without internal separation between them. The multiples will be of 1100 mm (2200 mm, 3300 mm, etc.)

Optional Equipment
FUME HOOD FOR EDUCATION CENTERS
The multi-purpose nature of CRUMAIR fume hoods means they may be used in many types of establishments, from laboratories in industry, hospitals and chemists, through to education centers. For the latter use, CRUMAIR has designed a special fume hood with a transparent rear panel of 15mm methyl polymethacrylate which allows all around viewing of the work being done inside the fume hood.

To ensure the reliability of any test, it is vital that work performed inside the hood is not contaminated. Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets for Class 100 clean rooms create this sterile environment by basing their construction on the following special features:
  • Polymer coating to protect metal parts against corrosion
  • Side and front walls made of 8mm thick transparent acrylic panels
  • Working surface of white safety glass
  • Silent centrifugal fans
  • Operation guaranteed for more than 50,000 hours
  • In compliance with current legislation, fitted with gas, electricity and vacuum connections
The filtration system incorporates a replaceable filter that is fireproof, water repellent and has been given a bactericide and fungicide treatment in compliance with current requirements and standards. The filter is an absolute HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) class H14, with a minimum efficiency of 99.995%

To retain atmospheric dust particles, models 870 FL and 670 FL sterile cabinets are fitted with a class G4 synthetic biofibre prefilter. Mounting on MOVILAR support is possible, for portability.

HOW TO CHOOSE A FILTER

  How to Choose a Filter
Request a Quote

Various types of filters are available. Two of them, types A and BE, are multi purpose and should be chosen according to the types of gas which are mainly produced, and which have been divided into two groups: Organic and Acidic.
  • TYPE A: Optimum for organic gases, Good for acidics
  • TYPE BE: Optimum for acidics, Good for organics
  • TYPE K: Optimum for amines and ammonia. Good for organics
  • TYPE F: Optimum for formaldehyde, Good for organics
  • TYPE G: Optimum for radioactive iodine and organic iodine, includes HEPA filter for solids
  • TYPE M: Optimum for mercury. Should be fitted with a HEPA filter for solids
  • TYPE ABEK: When proportions of organic, inorganic and NH3 / amines are similar
When handling gases and fumes, a special filter must be fitted for fumes, aerosols or particles. This filter retains all particles larger than 0.3 micrometers, and carries the reference D. These filters are designated: AD, BED, KD and FD.

PROTECTION AND SAFETY, OUR FINEST GUARANTEE

  Request a Quote

The safety provided by any fume hood must be absolute. Supplying a series of elements to control correct cabinet operation and filter saturation levels is only the first step , because the whole must then be analyzed, checked and approved by a technical team participating in our constant effort to improve. CRUMA has proved more than equal to this challenge, as demonstrated by the thorough and detailed analyses of the performance and efficiency of CRUMAIR fume hoods carried out by the General Testing and Research Laboratory of the Catalan Autonomous Government, attached to the Department of Industry and Energy. These analyses allow us to guarantee the total safety and effectiveness of our products.
